With the launch of our 3 forest schools we've developed a programme for the next half term to cover the Warrington area and stretch in Manchester.
We're determined to encourage more youngsters to have fun outside so we offer sessions from as little as £5 per child. And as an extra enticer we've got a special offer for our first session for bringing a second child - see our previous posts.
Have a look at our site descriptions to see which site suits you. All sites are very different and if you're prepared to travel then your children would have a different experience at each site.
Appleton Forest School is based in Lumb Brook Valley and runs on Mondays. An old woodland with lots of mature trees and a stream running right through it. Wellies are a must as we often play in the stream. The Dingle as its known has lots of character and lots of established flora and fauna - so we have to tread carefully and respectfully or the fairies might cast a spell on us.
Salford Forest School runs every Tuesday is based in a Millennium Wood near Cadishead planted on the flat mosses. It represents a blank canvas with lots of scope for future conservation work and development of activities as the site matures further.
Birchwood Forest School is every Wednesday at Gorse Covert Mounds. This landscaped area is kind of between the two others but it does boast a great view over the Manchester mosses from Pestfurlong Hill, ponds and mossland. It has lots of open space and wildlife.
Sessions run at 9:45am and 11:15am but we'll add more as demand goes up.
Week Commencing 9th February - WINTER FUN in the WOODS. Great to spend some time with toddlers and pre-schoolers before their older siblings break up next week.
Week Commencing 16th February - HALF TERM. Sessions aimed at mixed groups including older children. Get them playing outdoors before they go back to school next week.
Week commencing 23rd February to Easter - SPRING FOREST SCHOOL. We'll be running sessions for toddlers and preschoolers as part of a full on forest school programme with special events such as Gruffalo walks, fairy hunts and much more. Child led and looking at your child's development we'll tailor sessions. Pay for one session at a time or book four in advance and get the fifth free - and don't panic if you miss one you've booked - let us know and we'll just give you another session later.
EASTER - More details to follow but trust us we've got something very eggsciting.
